Rehoming my cat

I am leaving the Toledo area. I have a very nice cat. He is 13 years old. Very friendly, loving creature. Very well with his litter, he never scratches furniture nor people. I can take him to my son in LA. But first of all, my son has two large dogs in his house. These dogs never lived with a cat, my cat never lived with a dog. So I am afraid to put my beloved cat to such environment. Second, my cat never traveled, I do not know how much stress such a long flight to L A will put on him. I willing to give my cat to someone.
