"Moving History - Saving Our Past For our Future" a film documenting the significance of moving the historical building that establishes the Melbourne Founders Museum at Crane Creek in Melbourne, FL. This documentary, like the home is steeped in history. In 1880, the U.S. Census noted only five black men who were heads of households in Brevard County, Florida. Three of the men were Peter Wright, Balaam Allen, and Wright Brothers. The men had arrived on the coast of Florida as freedmen, after lives of slavery. “Moving History” documents the journey from the beginning, as well as the strength and resilience of these founding families. Watch as the home is saved and moved to a new location. Stories about the founding leaders and other firsts from the community paint a colorful portrait of a time many have never known.
