BUILDING MAINTENANCE TECHNICAL / ENGINEER’S ASSISTANT We are currently searching for a qualified and reliable maintenance engineer’s assistant to be part our maintenance department, is responsible for completing all service requests at the direction of the maintenance supervisor or property manager. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Complete apartment service tickets and log all assigned work orders accurately and in a timely fashion • Service Requests - complete residents service requests in within 24-hour period • Perform various maintenance functions including but not limited to painting, caulking, HVAC repairs, lock repairs, window/door repairs, electrical repairs, appliance repairs, preventative maintenance, and changing light bulbs, filters, batteries in a responsible and professional manner that meets industry standards as needed by the apartment community. • Assist with the organization and cleanliness of maintenance shop • Provide excellent customer service to residents • Responds immediately to emergency repairs situations • Complies with the Association policies regarding completion of maintenance duties ad residential work orders • Performs any other assignments as need by management in other building departments • Must be available for on-call work • Respond to resident service requests; enter and track requests using a work order system REQUIREMENTS: • Experience in plumbing and electricity (essential) • General knowledge of all aspects of maintenance repair and service • Apartment general maintenance and repairs experience is a plus • HVAC experience • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and climb ladders • Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally • Good Command of English language • Maturity in judgment • Dependable • advanced understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques. • Effective problem-solving abilities. • Must be well-organized and have the ability to prioritize tasks. • Great eye for detail. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines. Experience Required: Five (5) years in related field.
