Description

++ In 2022 the number of seats have been reduced to allow for more room in each row ++ The Boar’s Head & Yule Log Festival is a pageant rooted in ancient times that begins with the secular merry-making of 14th century England focused around the head of a slain boar. To the strains of “The Boar’s Head Carol” all join the herald in “honoring the King of bliss” for overcoming this ferocious beast. This secular festival complete with such familiar carols as “Deck the Hall” and “Here We Come A-Wassailing” is powerfully transformed into a portrayal and celebration of Christ’s birth in Bethlehem with shepherds and Magi joining the lords and ladies of the English court in praise of the Christ, who has triumphed over our greatest foe, sin and the devil. A lavish cast of over 100 members in medieval costumes along with a choir and orchestra of over 70 musicians will bring this ancient festival to life and help all to reflect once again on Christ, our reason for joy during this Christmas season, "For unto us a Child is born...the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world." A freewill offering will be collected at each performance. Admission Tickets (no charge) are required for each performance.  Doors open 30 minutes prior to each performance.  Guests must arrive by the published performance time with tickets in hand to guarantee reserved seating.  The festival begins with a short concert of Christmas music during which time some late seating may occur.  At this time those holding "General Admission" tickets will be ushered to any unoccupied open seats throughout the church.
