Description
Rock, Funk, and Soul. I've been at it for a long time and have hit the stage with many bands, over the years. Now, what I really want, is a couple of skilled jam buddies who, like me, need a semi-regular project to keep chops sharp and motivation up. A singing bassist and/or guitarist would be just right. Trios are my thing! I'm pretty easy and again, it bears repeating, this is for FUN.
I don't want to join an existing band. I'm not in a rush to hit a stage in front of a crowd, though I'm open to it someday.
Ideally, you come out to my place on Lanier 2-3x a month-ish, and have a blast just being creative. Just fun garage band stuff...but with a goal. Let's work on some covers, originals, whatever feels good. I really love to just improvise and throw down, experimenting with sounds. Let's do some recording!
While I'm open to all types of people, I've found that it's best to stick with people around the same age, so the influences and styles are most compatible. I'm in my mid-40's but still have all the same energy I had 20 years ago. Maybe more.
Big fan of "stoner" rock, or desert rock as it's sometimes called. I like big, fuzzy riffs, fat, greasy grooves, and ear-worm melodies. I lean on funk chops a lot, but I'm a hitter as well. If a little volume is going to scare you off, we probably won't get along too well. Big fan of 60's-90's rock. Not a metal guy - I play a pretty minimal kit with a single pedal.
I work hard on my projects and I practice a lot. The goal here is to have FUN, while also staying sharp, improving, and having a blast with some like-minded weirdos.
If this sounds appealing to you, please reach out. Thanks!
