As the Thanksgiving holiday approaches, many of us are pleasantly reminded of the things we feel grateful and fortunate to have in our lives. Traditionally, the holiday is celebrated with delicious food and the company of friends and family. Here at the Firehouse Kitchen, we are devoted to bringing the same holiday spirit to families and individuals for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday here in our little Town of Friendsville. This year, on Thanksgiving Day, members of the Friendsville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department will be busy preparing a wonderfully delicious Thanksgiving Feast to share with members of our community(Friendsville) who may not be able to enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving dinner this year. The dinner and all the trimmings will be 100% FREE to those attending. So far we have received donations from the Friendsville United Methodist, Northern Garrett County Rescue Squad and the Friendsville Mayor and Town Council, additional donations are being accepted to make this event a great success and hopefully to be able to continue and make it a cut above each year. The plan for our first year is to reach out to our community through social media, local churches, community organizations and press releases to let folks know what we are planning; more importantly to get folks that may not be enjoying a Thanksgiving dinner at home to come to the Firehouse Kitchen and share fellowship, conversation and get a full belly from a delicious Thanksgiving Feast with absolutely all the trimmings. We will be taking reservations by completing a form on our Facebook page and drop boxes that will be placed throughout the town. PLEASE remember there are no restrictions or requirements on who can attend this dinner, the only request we have is that you complete one of the reservation methods so we have plenty of food. (Although our fantastic cooks do sometime overdo it) More information and the reservation information will be coming out daily, so please share this information with anyone from The Friendsville area that you think may be interested in attending. Exact time will be published in the next few days, just reserve Thanksgiving Day to come to the Firehouse Kitchen. UPDATE: Doors will open at 12:00 Thanksgiving Feast will be served at 1:00 Reservations will open Monday, November 14th at 7 am on our Facebook Page and drop boxes will be placed throughout the Town to drop reservation cards in.
