Description
Chicago Community Bond Fund is hosting our 7th end-of-year celebration to commemorate CCBF’s 2022 achievements and continued leadership in the movement to end money bond. Please join us at Hairpin Arts Center or virtually on Saturday, November 19, 2022! What does freedom look like? We’ve asked this question of our featured guests to celebrate the various ways that freedom lives in Chicago, in community and in spirit. By using the influence of House as a timeless marker of community and joy, we will incorporate this nostalgic and ever-present movement into this year’s event. There will be speeches, a panel led by Chicago Black Social Cultural Map, dance performances, a disco-influenced set from Akenya, and music from DJ Fre. Don’t miss out! There are a limited number of in-person tickets, so we suggest registering for one as soon as possible. Can’t make it in person? You can join us through Zoom! We look forward to seeing you as we celebrate another year of progress in our shared struggle to end money bond and pretrial incarceration. Tickets are a suggested donation of $20 per guest, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds. Accessibility This event will include ASL interpreters. Spanish interpretation can be made available. Please email [email protected] to request language interpretation. There will be a dedicated space with activities for kids under 12 years old. Childcare can be made available. A request form will be distributed to registered guests. COVID-19 Precautions We request that guests be vaccinated against Covid-19 and receive a booster prior to the event. A negative test result within the last 24 hours will be required for entry. A limited number of rapid tests will be available on site on a first come, first serve basis. Please do not attend if you are showing any symptoms within five days of the event. Information about joining us virtually will be available to all guests in case your plans change. We encourage attendees to cancel in-person tickets if you are unable to attend. It is important that we continue to support each other throughout the pandemic. Taking these precautions allows vulnerable members of our community to make an informed decision about attending this event to support CCBF. Questions? Please email [email protected]! Special thanks to Rivka Yeker of Hooligan Creatives for their coordination and helping us make this event possible.
