LaunchSpace Afternoon Arts & Engineering Immersion Program Ages: 8-12 Wednesdays: 3:00-6:00 Month 1 - January 18th-February 8th - Pottery : An introduction to Hand building and Wheel Throwing LaunchSpace your community makerspace! The Launchspace afternoon Art and Engineering Immersion program provides a place for maker minded kids to be immersed in the powerful work of making. After homework help and a healthy snack, students will make use of our 13,000 square foot makerspace to design and create their own unique projects. Over the course of the school year, every student will have the chance to dive into the Art & Design Studios (Painting, Sculpture, Photography and Digital Art, Fiber and Textile Arts, Leather and Screen Printing); Robotics & IT (Vinyl cutter, Laser cutter, 3D Printer, Electronics and AV), Metal work, Pottery and Woodworking with hand tools. Projects are designed for all age and experience levels and use multiple modalities to scaffold all students. The month of January has been generously supported by a grant from our community partners at Walmart! Students can enroll for the month for $100! Transportation: Orange Elementary buses 6 and 7 traverse Route 2A past the Orange Innovation Center where staff will meet and walk students in. Parents are responsible for coordinating bus drop-off with the school or providing transportation. Monthly Cost: $180 Monthly Sponsorship Cost: $100 per student for the month of January! *sponsorship provided by The Walmart Foundation and local individual donors. Sponsorship rate is for the first 10 signups. The full rate of $180 will be charged after the first 10 seated are reserved. Refunds In the event that a class must be permanently canceled by LaunchSpace, your fees and deposit will be refunded in full or, if you prefer, applied to another program. Families have a 24-hour “buyers remorse” period from the date of purchase in which your full amount will be refunded. Because we must make scheduling and financial commitments to our staff, families are responsible for full tuition or can pay interest free installments through Eventbrite. Withdrawals or sick days during the program will not be refunded. Please read, sign & return before program start date.
