Join us at the Farmworker Caravan Tamalada where you'll enjoy a fun day of learning and making tamales with family, friends or colleagues. You can come for a cooking lesson and/or tamale rolling party then enjoy a tamale lunch. All tamales made at the event will be donated to the Farmworker Caravan to gift to agricultural workers for Christmas at our annual Las Posadas en el Campo event in December. You'll learn the history of tamales and enjoy a chef demo + hands-on workshop to learn how to prepare and cook the meats, masa and chili sauce. Plus you'll also learn how to make Ensalada de Nochebuena, a refreshing salad made with a medley of fruits and nuts. Cooking Lesson will take place in a separate private room from Tamale Party. Please bring the following items with you on the day of the event: 1) Apron or coverup 2) Spatula (rubber or metal) for spreading masa 3) 4 cereal bowls for your station 4) Hand towel Photos & Media: We will be taking pictures to share on social media and the local news media will be invited to attend.
