Welcome to the semiannual Wontanara West African drum and dance Conference in May! Thank you for your interest in attending the semiannual "Wontanara Conference," hosted by Safi Camara and Frank Malloy IV. We are excited to have you! The classes are on November 18th, 19th, & 20th - that’s on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. We have master drummers and dancers! We kick off the conference with a song class from Mouminatou Camara followed by a drum class from master drummer Abou Sylla, from Guinea, West Africa. On Saturday and Sunday we open the day we drum classes from master drummers Bolokada Conde and Mangue Sylla, followed by master dancers Mouminatou Camara, Sandella Malloy, Mamady Sano, Marie Basse, Daunte Fyall, Youssouf Koumbassa, & Souleymane Solo Sana. It's an intensive you do not want to miss! We kickoff the intensive on Saturday with: Djembe/ Dundun Class with Bolokada Conde at 10:00 am- 11:00 am. West African Dance with Daunte Fyall at 11:00 am- 12:15 pm. **WE HAVE A MARKET PLACE BREAK FOR FOOD AND SHOPPING** 12:15 am- 1:00 pm. West African Dance with Marietou Camara at 1:00 pm- 2:15 pm. West African Dance with Mamady Sano at 2:30 pm- 3:45 pm. West African Dance with Sandella Malloy at 4:00 pm- 5:15 pm. West African Dance with Youssouf Koumbassa at 5:30 pm- 6:45 pm. But we don't stop there! We continue the intensive on Sunday with: Djembe/ Dundun Class with Mangue Sylla at 10:00 am- 11:00 am. **WE HAVE AN MARKET PLACE BREAK FOR FOOD AND SHOPPING** 11:00 am- 11:45pm. West African Dance with Marie Basse at 12:00 pm- 1:15 pm. West African Dance with Souleymane Solo Sana at 1:30 pm- 2:45 pm. West African Dance with Mamady Sano at 3:00 pm- 4:15 pm. West African Dance with Mouminatou Camara at 4:30 pm- 5:45 pm. $15.00 EARLY BIRD/ $20.00 ADVANCE REGISTRATION /$25.00 AT THE DOOR *CLASSES ARE IN- PERSON ONLY* *NO REFUNDS* Conference Rules: Regarding health and safety protocols during the conference, all participants will be required to 1. Properly wear a mask at all times while in common areas. 2. Exit the dance studio between classes for cleaning. 3. Congregate outside between classes. We will be keeping the lobby area clear.
