Description

This volunteer opportunity involves executing the first phase of the ecological design of a food forest at Rio Vista. One acre of land that was turf is being transformed to grow edibles, carbon sequestering trees and species indigenous to Central and South America. Projects for the day include sheet mulching, planting the pokey living fence, drylands outdoor classroom, and oak lodge outdoor kitchen classroom. Instruction and guidance will be provided at 9am, so volunteers are encouraged to arrive on time. Check in at the front of the school and bring garden gloves if you have them!
