MUSICAL IMPROV WORKSHOP: MAKING A FUNNY MUSICAL In Improv scenes do you break out in song? Do you enjoy making up funny songs on the spot? Come discover the magic of Musical Improv with Andy O! For this 4 hour workshop, we’ll explore turning our improvised scenes into improvised MUSICALS learning about -Finding your Musical Moment -Song structure and how to build a song on the spot -Different styles/structures to Musical Numbers -Free Form & Narrative Storylines! -And putting it all together into a funny musical! —————————————————————— LOCATION: Planet Ant Theatre DATE/TIME: November 27th Noon-4 pm PRICE: $50 INSTRUCTOR: Andy O MD: Jeremy St Martin About the instructor Andy O: Andy has been a goofy singing performer for 15+ years. An EMU graduate and a graduate of Second City Chicago’s Comedy Studies program, Andy has performed in SE Michigan and Chicago IL with Planet Ant Theatre, Tipping Point Theatre, Second City Chicago, Baby Wants Candy Chicago, Mint Music Improv Night, Vamp Chicago, Dinner Detective Murder Mystery and various teams and solo shows and concerts/recorded albums with his comedy band TIBERIUS and with his kids music album by “Mr Andy & The Shakers.” After years of performing and coaching musical improv in Chicago, Andy is excited to be back in Michigan, excited to share his musical improv experience, and hopes to sing and have a good time being funny with lots of people all the time. Let’s make up some musicals!
