Description

We are a community service 17 member big band, established in 2017 and located in the central Dallas area. We play a variety of musical styles to include Jazz, Swing, Latin Jazz, Latin, and Ballroom Dance. All members are unpaid volunteers. Our goals are: 1) to provide music to charitable and community groups or organizations who ordinarily would not have access to the entertainment we provide, and 2) to maintain and improve our musicianship. We rehearse Monday evenings from 7:30 to 9:30 in the Oak Lawn area of Dallas. We are seeking a female vocalist to fill the position of primary vocalist or sub vocalist for both rehearsals and performances. Your range should be alto to contralto (eg. Diana Krall). You should be familiar with working with standard charts and singing with a large instrumental group. Sight singing is not a requirement. Our repertoire consists of adaptations/charts starting in the late 20's and forward thru the 30's, 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's and even adaptations of current tunes.
