Description
Fiercely committed to learning music theory better. Just find the subject very dense and easily distracted or I often just start wandering into playing things I enjoy rather than scales.
Me: in a band in town, active in the music community, mid 20’s, somewhat more advanced guitarist/bassist by ear. Just never put in the work to learn theory as appropriate as I should have. But am committed to having more tools in the bag for my playing abilities. I personally am Most interested in learning theory from a guitarists perspective.
You: any age, any skill level, just also want to improve your understanding of music theory. (Preferably someone who also doesn’t understand it as much so we could work together learning) but if you’re a master and wanna spend time with a newbie, will definitely always be open to anyones wisdom!
A partner or group of individuals who met up on a regular basis would be great. Could be a coffee shop, brewery, mine or someone else’s home, etc… needs to be in Fort Collins since that’s where I live. Could maybe go a little out of my way depending how close you are. But has to remain somewhat local.
I would be interested trying to lead it and decide what we need to come prepared with on a weekly basis (or bi weekly?) i don’t know. The structure of it all we could figure out. Just would be nice to have another party(s) involved to talk about it and learn. That always makes things more enjoyable.
Shoot me an email if you’re interested. Would love to meet up during this holiday season at least once, meet others, and then figure out a gameplan to start putting in some work by 2023.
Always down to jam or collaborate with other musicians too if this leads to any of that as a result. But learning theory has to be the main focus for me right now.
Thanks!
