Small Buffalo-based property investment company with a portfolio of 19 properties in the City of Buffalo is seeking a reliable, self-motivated maintenance person. You will work directly with the two property owners who are partners in this business. We are looking for someone with basic maintenance and renovation skills, but we will also offer the opportunity for the right person to gain new skills once on the job. Initial responsibilities will include: • Responding to all tenant maintenance calls and light renovation of properties as needed, including carpentry, drywall, painting and cleaning. • Outdoor grounds maintenance involving trash management, yard maintenance (mowing, trimming shrubbery, leaf collection), along with snow and ice removal and salting in the winter. • It is expected that you will have timely communication with both owners for immediate follow-up on work orders. Your Job Skills/Experience should include: • Minimum 1-2+ years prior apartment or home repair maintenance and renovation skills. • Minimum High School diploma/GED required. • Reliable transportation, valid NYS driver's license and basic tools required. • Excellent attendance; reliable, dependable. • Must work well independently as well as on a team. • Strong time management, problem solving, communication, and customer service skills to interact with our tenants. • Must be adaptable to changing work priorities to meet required project/work task deadlines and to respond to tenant emergencies in a timely manner. • Pride in performing quality work. Work schedule is 40 hours per week, with the days and times of work being flexible. Pay rate starts at $25 per hour, based on experience. Any overtime is reimbursed at 1.5 times the base rate, but overtime is not guaranteed. Benefits include worker's compensation, disability, and unemployment insurance.
