Hello musicians. It's mostly the bassists and guitarists I'm addressing here. I've been trying to find the right dirty tone for my guitar and bass for over a year and can not find the sound I'm looking for. I always start by watching YouTube demos so I'm not going into a purchase completely blind. I have tried and returned: EQD Sunn O))) Life Pedal Fuzzrocious croak DOD Carcosa Death By Audio Interstellar Overdriver JHS Packrat An ancient EHX Big Muff pi DOD Boneshaker Darkglass Microtubes B3K 2.0 Bass Distortion A number of Boss pedals including the "metal zone" MXR Distortion + MXR Bass DI and distortion MXR Sub Octave Bass Fuzz EarthQuaker Devices Acapulco Gold I'm looking for something really dirty, gritty, deep... a pedal that makes it sound like something terrible is happening somewhere. Like someone is dumping a shovel-full of bricks into your ears. Sorry, I'm doing the best I can here. Think bands like Old Man Gloom, Sannhet, the song Drought by Pelican, the Song Descend from the Wind by Ganon (great band btw) the song Wasted by Greymachine. Please help me out here CL people.
