Power Tool & Fire Extinguisher Repair Technician Duties • Fire Extinguisher Repair Technician Inspect, repair, and test fire extinguishers using hand tools & hydrostatic testing equipment o Dismantle extinguishers and examine mechanical parts, extinguishing agents, and expelling means; replaces worn or damaged parts o Clean extinguishers and recharge them with approved materials o Assist in fire safety inspection o Working conditions include restricted movement, air contamination, lifting or carrying of heavy objects • Power Tool Repair Technician o Performing service, diagnosing and making repairs on gas-, air- and electric powered tools such as drills, bandsaws and nail guns. o Read technical manuals, disassemble tools, and use testing devices, such as ammeters and voltmeters, to identify problems. o Responsible for rebuilding defective mechanical parts and rewiring electrical systems, including soldering or coating wires for proper installation. o Prepare paperwork and keep stock of parts. o Have active listening skills to understand customer problems and finger dexterity to make precise finger movements to assemble and manipulate small objects.
