Join the ladies of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., Eta Theta Sigma Alumnae Chapter for our 5th annual evening of holiday cheer and goodwill. This year's theme is "A Sigma Speakeasy Edition". This is an exclusive cocktail party featuring live jazz and r&b from Collaboration, a showcase of local poets, and special offerings from local vendors just in time for the holidays. Indulge in an evening of thoughtfully crafted cocktails with an ideal accompaniment of host hors d'oeuvres and a few surprises. Attire is cocktail and chic. Talented, Dynamic, Excellent, the members of the musical group Collaboration personify a sense of purpose and vision that will propel them into the realm of success and stardom. This group has put the “soul” back into jazz with its sexy and supple sound. Drummer Kenneth Dickerson and saxophonist Tracey Cutler founded this awesome band while they were students at Cardozo High School in Washington, DC. Band members include keyboardist Tony Walker His smooth sophisticated style is comparable to jazz icons Herbie Hancock, Joe Sample, and George Duke. Bass player Mark Russell who calls Marcus Miller his inspiration and lead vocalist Lori Williams, whose influences are Anita Baker, Rachelle Farrell and Dianne Reeves. Collaboration has shared the stage with some of the biggest names in the music industry including Layla Hathaway, Phil Perry, Johnnie Gill, Norman Brown, Peabo Bryson, the Manhattans, Pieces of A Dream, Betty Carter, Lee Ritenour, Stanley Turrentine, War, the Delphonics and the late great Phyllis Hyman. Recently, Collaboration played to international packed concerts in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo Brazil, while also recording tracks for their upcoming project. In 2021 Collaboration was featured with Macy Gray on the Bravo Channel on the Housewives of Potomac. They have also served as backup band for singers Patty Labelle, Eric Benet and Miles Jaye.
