Description

The parks and neighborhoods of Bellingham offer birders a wide array of unique habitats to explore. Join other birders each month to explore a new birding hotspot within walking, biking, or bussing distance from downtown Bellingham. This month, we will be exploring Sunset Pond on James Street. Sunset Pond is along Squalicum Creek and can be a great place to see freshwater ducks throughout the winter, with opportunities for a variety of songbirds along the trails surrounding the pond. The group will set up by the parking area and have opportunities for folks to watch the pond from there, or walk the trails if they wish. We will meet on December 11 at 9:30 am at the Sunset Pond Parking area (3424 James Street). For accessibility information, see the Sunset Pond entry on Birdability.org. For questions about the trip, contact [email protected].
