This presentation will provide participants with an overview of self-care strategies to prevent burn out, especially through the holidays. Participants are invited to participate in an art-making experience as well as to enjoy the comradery and support of their peers.
Our Presenter, Rachel Mims, MS, ATR-BC, LPC-AT served in the U.S. Army for 10.5 years and has worked in a variety of practice settings: higher education, nonprofit, community mental health, and private practice. The majority of her experience has been working with those who have experienced combat or sexual trauma. She is a Board Certified Art Therapist, a Licensed Professional Counselor, and is trained to provide Cognitive Processing Therapy, EMDR, and Horticulture Therapy. She has served on the NTATA executive board for the past two years. In addition to ongoing work with veterans, Rachel has begun her own private practice through which she is focusing on the needs of women and LGTBQ+ folks whose mental health has been impacted by systemic inequalities and/or trauma.
