THIS IS AN IN-PERSON EVENT, TO PURCHASE LIVE-STREAM TICKETS CLICK HERE. This Cold River Radio Show Headlines Johnny Trama & The B3 Kings. Groove soul rock & roll! Their sound ranges through many classic genres but if you had to describe their recipe it would be The Meters meets Staxx Family sprinkling some Jimmy Smith and Freddie King right on top. The band has had the privilege of sharing the stage with artists such as Al Green, Booker T. Jones, Dickie Betts, New Mastersounds, G. Love and Special Sauce, to name a few. This All Star Band features: Johnny Trama on guitar (The Silks/Dub Apocalypse/A Band of Killers), Thomas Arey on drums (Peter Wolf & the Midnight Travelers/A Band of Killers), Rusty Scott on Hammond B3 organ (Roomful of Blues). This Show Also Features... Dave Gerard of Truffle. On any given night a DG show is gentle, raucous, and eclectic; but always honest. His soulful style of contemporary roots music and from-the-core songwriting has earned him many awards: Best Male Artist & Song of The Year (Jam Magazine), and finalist in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest to name a few. His music takes him full time from New England to Florida, west to Colorado, and to the U.S. Virgin Islands. Acoustically he’s shared the stage with Richie Havens, Chris Smither, David Lindley, Pat Donohue, Toots & the Maytalls, and Tinytown. With his band Truffle, he’s performed with Little Feat, The Band, Phish, Dave Matthews Band, and Blues Traveler to name a few. Check out a show and his six solo recordings, “ The Zoomy Trail”, “Dreams of Kings”, “Losing the Boy”, “Memory Hill”, “FIVE”, (collaborated with Bill Payne from Little Feat), and his latest “Angels & Cowboys” 2021. Author Jay Atkinson, Called "the bard of New England toughness" by Men's Health magazine, has published two novels, a story collection, and five narrative non-fiction books. His latest book, Massacre on the Merrimack: Hannah Duston's Captivity and Revenge in Colonial America, received the 2016 Massachusetts Book Award Honors in nonfiction. Among his other works, Legends of Winter Hill spent seven weeks on the Boston Globe bestseller list; his memoir, Ice Time, was a Publishers Weekly Notable Book of the Year and a New England Independent Bookseller's Association bestseller; and his rugby novel Caveman Politics was a Barnes & Noble Discover Great New Writers selection and a finalist for the Discover Great New Writers Award. The Wall Street Journal called Atkinson's Memoirs of a Rugby-Playing Man a "hymn of praise for the rugby game" and an "exhilarating book." Local Spotlight Randy Messineo is a solo performer (acoustic guitar, vocal, harmonica)influenced by folk artists of the 1960s. He has kept the passion alive through the last several decades performing solo across the United States and England. After returning from England, Randy traveled throughout the Deep South and has played venues in Alabama, Texas, and New Mexico. Eventually, he decided to settle down in the North Country town of Shelburne, New Hampshire. Randy continues to perform today across northern New Hampshire and Maine. As Always, Host Jonathan Sarty and His Fabulous Cold River Radio Band: David Mattacks on Drums (Jethro Tull, Fairport Convention), Todd Baker on Double Bass, Mike Sakash on Soprano Sax, and Joseph (Sonny) Barbato on Piano. www.coldriverradio.com
