Description

Please join us for our first Move for Malro 5K! This is a family friendly non-competitive untimed 5K walk / run. 100% of your ticket goes to raising funds for the IMF (more on that below). Your ticket includes registration for the 5K, post food and drinks, and kid friendly entertainment (face painting and balloon artists). It is amazing how passionate you become about something when it affects you personally. Our daughter Isla was born with malrotation requiring life saving surgery in the first 12 hours of life. After a stint in the NICU she is currently thriving. This event brings together our family, friends, colleagues and neighbors to celebrate life and to give back. We would love your support. The 5K route is the same one we walked many times throughout pregnancy. We will start and finish at Wendtwoods Park Pavilion. Registration is from 8:30 am onwards and you can start the 5K anytime between 9 am and 10 am. The post event food, drink and entertainment will start at 10 am and continue until 12 noon. Tickets are $50 for adults and $10 for kids 2 years and above. As a reminder, 100% of ticket sales go to the IMF - so feel free to donate as much as you'd like. If you have any questions, concerns or would like to volunteer or become a sponsor - please contact Abby on 346-217-1538 or [email protected]. Thank you to our current sponsors - the Cowan Family, Kate Ferguson City&Suburbs Houston Realtor, and Lovebeans Coffee. About Malrotation and the Intestinal Malrotation Foundation (IMF) We had never heard of malrotation but had to learn quickly. Malrotation Awareness Day is January 15th each year. We encourage you to learn more by going to the Intestinal Malrotation Foundation home page, specifically the Information, the Team and the Stories sections of their website. The Intestinal Malrotation Foundation was created to provide education, advocacy, resources and support to families impacted by intestinal malrotation and its complications. In addition to supporting families, the Intestinal Malrotation Foundation uses grassroots efforts to educate hospital systems, spread community awareness and fund research. They operate exclusively on fundraising efforts and donations. Learn more here.
