Join Joan Hilger-Mullen, former Curator of the Piper Medical Museum for a conservation centered around the collection. In 1972, Dr. Donald K. Piper began collecting material related to the history of the medical profession. Originally housed at St. Joseph Hospital, the collection contains over 15,000 items, including both artifacts and archival materials. It was given to the Kansas City Museum in 2015. This collection is one of the largest medical collections in the Midwest and illustrates the many advances in medical care over the last 100+ years.
