Description
Hi there,
Sadly, my good friends need to rehome their 2.5months old golden retriever named Skipper. They are looking for a really special human to save him from behavioral euthanasia. Please read below Skipper's full story to get to know this truly wonderful and special dog.
- Skipper was rescued 2 months ago. He was abused and neglected and didn't trust human beings at first.
- Through positive reinforcement training he has grown to love humans and is quite snuggly and loving.
- That said, he has a bite history, most recently a few weeks ago. His bites have happened when he's touched lying down or startled while sleeping. While he has never shown aggression towards a child, trainers advise he should not be in a household with children. For this reason, he cannot stay in the same household as his current owners are planning a family.
No rescues will take him with his background. Most vets recommend euthanasia. A few trainers recommend instinctual behavioral therapy. We're hoping/praying for a special individual who deeply understands/wants to understand and work with an animal to save its life. The couple would sponsor additional training sessions for a potential adoptee.
Please reach out if you're interested and we can share more information.
