Chief Marc Bashoor is a 41-year emergency services veteran, having served 30 years with the Prince George's County, Maryland Fire/EMS Department - including 6-1/2 years as Chief of Department. Additionally, Chief Bashoor served 5 years as the Emergency Services Director for Mineral County West Virginia; and 3-1/2 years as the Public Safety Director for Highlands County Florida. He is currently the Executive Editor at Lexipol's FireRescue1.com. Chief Bashoor is an accomplished speaker, having presented at most of the major industry conferences in the United States, and has lectured internationally on behalf of the National Fire Protection Association in Sao Paulo Brazil and Beijing China. A nationally certified Fire Officer IV, Fire Instructor, and Fire Inspector Chief Bashoor also served for 5 years as an adjunct instructor with Texas A&M's National Emergency Response and Rescue Training Center, for 1 year with the National Fire Academy, and he continues to present on leadership to public safety departments across the United States.
