Walgreens Cashier Remembered For Great Attitude: COVID Memorial

LAKE COUNTY, IL — You may remember her as the woman who checked out your items at the Walgreens on South Milwaukee Avenue in Libertyville. Tracy L. Bugner of Beach Park died in May. Terry Abbott recently shared news about Bugner's death as part of the Patch.com COVID virtual memorial. "A lot of people knew Tracy by sight and would remember her from working at the checkout at Walgreens on South Milwaukee Ave. where Libertyville ends and Vernon Hills begins," Abbott said. Abbott said Bugner had a great attitude. "...her as well as the thousands that work at this type of store are, in my opinion, essential workers who are not appreciated enough," she said. Bugner died on May 6 at the age of 50, according to her obituary. She was born in Montpelier, Ohio, and lived in Arizona as a teen. She met her "devoted husband," Vincent J. Bugner, at Glendale High School in Arizona. They had two daughters, Heather Bassler and Melissa Bennett. She enjoyed going on family vacations to warm, sunny places like Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and also to to northern Florida, to visit her extended family, according to her obituary. She was also a volunteer with ElderCARE in Lake County and "always lent a hand to anyone in need." "Tracy was always welcoming to people of all walks of life and was renowned for her snack spreads at every birthday, graduation, and holiday party," according to her obituary.
