Mexican empanadas are made with a corn masa (which also makes tortillas!).
Each person will make two empanadas, and in the process learn:
How to hand make tortillasHow to fill and seal an empanadaHow to properly fry an empanadaHow to enjoy an empanada (Okay, you won’t learn this, but you’ll do it in the class!)Empanadas are gluten free, and vegetarian fillings are available.
Best part? Participants can order from the bar while they work.

About the instructors:
Jorge Parra is the owner and Maria Parra is the Executive Chef of Taqueria Jalisco. Taqueria Jalisco started in 2005 in a small red food truck on the Southside of Chattanooga. The Parra family has expanded slowly over the years into a storefront at Miller Plaza in Chattanoogas city center and a full service Tequila & Mezcal bar in Chattanoogas Southside where it all began.
