Do Nothing.Tuesday, 14 December 20225:00 pm – 6:00 pmThis event is unlike any other. Get ready to do nothing. After a short meet and greet, you will leave all of your electronic devices behind and then go sit in the historic main courtroom inside the iconic Bartholomew County Courthouse.You will be silent for exactly 24 minutes (one minute for every hour of the day) and enjoy a shared contemplative moment without conversation or communication. There are only 12 tickets available for this unique event, and you must select your specific seat.The event starts at the Landmark Columbus Foundation studio and will focus on a thoughtful, short reading, followed by a quick walk down to the Courthouse. After the 24 minutes of silence has concluded, participants will return to the studio to discuss their experiences and observations over refreshments.Do Nothing events emphasize the importance of examining new perspectives and appreciating Columbus’ cultural resources. The idea was inspired by the book “How to Do Nothing: Resisting the Attention Economy” by Jenny Odell.The goal of this series is to bring awareness to Columbus’ design history and heritage that shapes the modern legacy of Columbus with an easy, fun, after-work event to do with your friends, family, and colleagues.
