A Panel Discussion on Log Management and Data Retention, including operational, audit, and legal requirements
The saying, "all data is security relevant" may be true (or may have been true), but that doesn't mean that we send ALL of the data to our Security analysis systems. Being able to have choice, control and flexibility of log data and what we retain is a critical aspect of a successful Cybersecurity and Incident Response Team. Additionally, there are legal, audit, and operational requirements or limitations on what should be retained or not. This panel will discuss what logs and other data should be retained, for what duration, and will explore best practices to manage logs and data to ensure compliance with internal and external requirements.
