5k/10k Saturday through the heart of the PA Wilds, 1/2 Sunday on the flat, fast rail trail, AMAZING BLING!! Join us, as we run with the ELK "Run for the Elk" Half Marathon, 5k, 10k DATE | START TIMES Saturday August 7, 2021 (5k, 10k) morning Sunday August 8, 2021 (1/2 Marathon) Take the Rut Challenge and run them all. Saturday-Parker Dam-PA Wilds 5k/10k 5K will start at 7:00 AM 10k will start at 8:00 AM Sunday-Half Marathon & 2 MIle Sprint Start at 7 AM FEES 5k $30 until Jan. 1st $35 until May 1st $40 until Race Day 10k $35 until Jan.1st $40 May 1st $45 until Race Day 1/2 Marathon $65 until Jan.1st $75 April 1st $80 until June 1st $85 until Race Day Rut Challenge (5k/10k/Half) $85 until Jan. 1s, $95 until April 1st $105 until June 1st $115 until Race Day Walk $10 with NO shirt $20 with t-shirt We will keep registration open until race day unless it is sold out. COURSES/TIME LIMITS/AID STATIONS Saturday, Parker Dam 5k & 10K (PA Wilds 5k & 10K) The 5k will be a pretty easy out and back course along Mud Run Road (paved road). Approx.150 feet of elevation change. The 10k will follow the 5k course then go another 1.55 on the other side of the lake (Fairview Road). It will be a paved/dirt road right through the forest. The courses will be very scenic and sure to please. There are few places in Pennsylvania can compare to the Wilds. Sunday-Half Marathon 1/2 Marathon will be on the West Creek Recreational Trail in Emporium, PA, on the backside of the state gamelands. This is a beautiful and flat, out and back race on the rail trail. Rut Challenges 5k/10k, Half Marathon Rut Jr. 5k/10k, 2 Mile The Rut (mid-September to mid-October, the elk rut is a time when male elk, or bulls, vie for the hearts of their female counterparts.) Time Limits 1/2 Marathon / 5 hours 5k / 1 hour 10k / 90 minutes Aid Stations All aid stations will be unmanned We encourage all runners to bring your own hydration and fuel There will be bottled water at the stations There will be stations approximately every 2 miles for the half marathon (including 2 stations with Gatorade) There will be 1 station for the 5k There will be 2 stations for the 10k PARKING Saturday-PA Wilds 5k/10k at Parker Dam State Park Parker Dam State Park on site near the Start/Finish for both the 5k/10k & 1 Mile near pavilion 6. 28 Fairview Road, Penfield, PA Sunday half marathon parking is located on both sides of the rail trail at the start/finish 599 East 2nd St. Emporium, PA 15834 Street parking is also available (free). AGE | AWARDS AWARDS Very unique race themed awards. Top 3 male and female to go with top masters male and female (40+) There will also be age group awards for both male and female runners. Special elk themed awards to the top 3 teams with the most participants and top 3 fastest. AGE GROUPS Half marathon, 5K & 10k 19 and under, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34,35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+ T-SHIRTS | MEDALS Race themed short sleeve tech shirt. Unique medals pertaining to the PA Wilds will be awarded to all participants in the 5k/10k, Half Marathon. We will also have an additional medal for those running the Rut Challenge. You could earn up to 4 medals! CHARITY Part of the proceeds will benefit Friends of Parker Dam State Park.
