Hello fellow BRBA members,
Our month meeting will be in-person at the Animal Science Building on the MU campus with guest speaker Lisa Webb.
Sunday, November 20 at 3:00 pm (doors open at 2:30PM).
Lisa Webb is a research ecologist with USGS Missouri Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit and a Cooperative Associate Professor in the School of Natural Resources at the University of Missouri. Her research focuses on wetland-dependent wildlife habitat associations, distributions and response to anthropogenic stressors in Missouri and throughout the Mississippi Flyway, however she inadvertently ended up studying native bees as part of a larger neonicotinoid insecticide project. At the upcoming meeting, she will be discussing how neonicotinoid insecticides transfer to non-target ecosystems and the implications for non-target taxa, including honey and native bees.
Additionally we will discuss
What's happening with your hives. What beekeepers should be doing with their hive colonies during winter.
