Ah, the smell of melting plastic and the joy of seeing your design emerge shimmering from the toaster oven. Those who have made a Makit & Bakit suncatcher have fond memories. We were astonished to learn recently that these classic craft kits are STILL BEING MADE! Now they are updated with avocados and narwhals but there are classic shapes like Saturn and cacti available, too! Your evening of Gen X crafting will include everything you need to make an official Makit & Bakit suncatcher or two, a soundtrack guaranteed to transport you back to summer camp in the 80s and good company. We're working on some GenX snacks...feel free to share suggestions. If time allows, we might get into the Shrinky Dinks. Bring your kid to share a cherished memory from your childhood. Bring your friends to relax and bask in the glory of Gen X crafting. (Do you have another favorite GenX craft? Let's do it!) Ages: Adults, teens and kids ages 8 and up. Cost: $10 (All proceeds support Cannon Valley Makers) Instructor: Michelle Martin will be the host for the evening. She was born in 1972 and is a certified member of Gen X. She also made a lot of Makit & Bakits - most of them were successful.
