Hello and thank you for reading this. I am asking for help in tracing the engine I have for correct identification. It is in a 1962 late production year ford fairlane 500 4door. It is a V8 but not a general casting. It is not the 2 barrel factory version but a 4 barrel on it. The car is a K code on the vin but the block does not have the usual cast embossments but has machined smooth where they would be and instead hand punched/stamped letters or numbers that have not yet matched up with any history or searches I’ve made. Thank you if you can assist with an id for this engine. It’s possible it is a pre re lease 289 V8 in testing prior to full productions of the 289’s that followed.
