Wanting to start a band

I play bass, and guitar (to a lesser extent) and love writing music/lyrics and am trying to get better at singing. I've been wanting to start a band and thought going on here would be a good start to find some others or join something, and create some material, play some stuff, etc. I'm definitely not the most accomplished person in the universe. Have a crappy demo from some time ago I posted on soundcloud, lol. I'm also 24. I'm a fan of metal in general, goth rock (my favorite band was type o negative) am into the early 2000s emo vibe, the whole 9 yards, and love darkwave vibes (like Lebanon Hanover) and any droning/shoegazy sound (like deftones, mbv, etc) Hope to hear from someone.
