Bored with your life wanting some high adventure like yo dress up but no where to go, then Let me tell you about the (Iowa Light Artillery), we are a few history minded guys and girls who are forming a new civil war reenacting group. So we travel around Iiwa and the Midwest we take our cannon where ever people want us to fire the cannon or just show it off. We go to schools/colleges/parades/ living history’s and of course civil war reenactment battles, we portray a Iowa Union artillery unit and of the yankee persuasion, we are Iowans mostly but sometimes we have to galvanize when needed to do so we put on the gray uniforms of the Southern or ie the Rebels/ rebs/ Confederate impression when short rebs at a reenactment. So our unit meets once a month in Hampton Iowa at the civil war GAR museum Usually every 2nd Week of the month. We have a monthly newsletter called the “Bugle”, that arrives in your email or text, and we try to have fun n games at every meeting. We have a 1861 3” Ordnance rifled cannon that shoots a 9lbs projectile over 2miles at the speed of sound using a 1 pound charge of gunpowder, we shoot just gunpowder at events and of course leave the live rounds to the gun range which we also do during the year. If any of this tickles your fancy and you believe You were born in the wrong era you too maybe a born civil war reenactor, like all of us feel so we welcome you to the fold…!!! We have all the gear you need to join up We have dozens of authentic tents and black smithed iron utensils for our fire pits made just Like they used over a 150 years ago..!!! We have for the new persons dresses for the ladies and all the fixings along with fir the men from top to bottom Hats/shirts/jackets/suspenders/ military us brass belts and buckles / pants/socks/leather shoes and boots/ muskets/swords/ canteens/haversacks/leather cap/cartridge box/ leather slings/ all if it authentic 19th century clothing uniforms for men and women who can pass as men which believe it really happened during the war..!!
