VFT makes solid wood tables in our Bristol, VT woodshop which we deliver up and down the Atlantic seaboard. We're looking for a product handler / delivery driver that wants to be a part of a company that cares about its product, its clients, and its employees. We deliver both to warehouses and private homes utilizing our own 24' box truck and/or 18' van. Weekly routes are typically a VT-MA-NJ loop, occasionally going farther south down the Atlantic seaboard. Most months involve one or two over-nights on the road; VFT covers all expenses, including a daily food stipend and individual private hotel room per driver on overnights. A CDL is not required for this job. Starting pay: $20.00, or based on experience Applicants accepted for the position will receive a $500 sign-on bonus after the first 90 days of employment. For immediate start. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. - Handle furniture with exceptional care. - Loading and unloading vehicles. - Wrap furniture with blankets and secure to prevent damage in transit. - Carefully install items in residence, office, warehouse, or other destination. Some light disassembly and assembly may be required. - Interface with clients and get delivery paperwork signed and returned to the main office. - Drive vehicles in rural and metropolitan areas. - Basic safety inspections and maintenance of the VFT truck and van REQUIREMENTS - Satisfactory driving record. - Ability to obtain a DOT medical card (company will cover expense). - Ability to lift furniture in the delivery process. - Experience driving or moving furniture is preferred but not required. - Positive mental attitude and ability to work with others. - Clear and respectful client communication.
