Great post! My only complaint I suppose, is you offered no solutions. The American population is a spoiled, self-indulgent, pampered lot. We could bring the oil industry (or any other corporation for that matter) to its knees if we so desired. We could: • Turn our home thermostats down to 60 when home (it's what God created sweaters and long johns for,) and all the way back every time away from home. • Drive the speed limit. Share commutes to work with three coworkers. Use public transportation when available. • Walk or ride a bike when possible. If we did these three things alone, collectively as a nation, in seven days you would see "gas wars" amongst gas stations like never experienced in most people's lives today. But we won't, will we? It is much easier to bitch, moan and complain. It is what corporate America counts on.
