Description

After what has been a hectic fall for us here in SWFL, I know many small businesses are ready to bring in more events for community to gather together! Here at The Humble Hut, we value sustainability & humilty above everything, and that is why our intentions in spreading holistic healing modalities (such as herbal remedies, somatic therapy/movemenet) are some of the ways in which we hope to continue to bring community together. We have been growing our Apothecary over the past months and are excited to introduce our new, fully stoked apothecary at this event on Dec 3rd! We thought, no better way to start this new journey with some cordial making holiday cheer! So, what is a cordial? These sweet alcohol-based herbal formulas were meant to be energetically heart-warming and cordial, which more-or-less means “of the heart” in old English. Originally these aperitif-like infusions were used exclusively to boost cardiovascular health, there are many types of cordials that can be created using different herbs, alcohols, spices, etc helping different body systems depending on the formulation. What better way to enjoy the gifts of hawthorn than to create an after-dinner cordial that can ease the stomach, open the heart, and help celebrate the harvest season? When & how do you drink cordials? Okay so clearly we aren't going to get super cold weather during the holiday season in Naples, as that is when cordials were traditionally made for, to warm up the body and keep the heart pumping! Though, if we are lucky, we will get a few nights that the weather might drop into the 60s (Please please elements we beg you). Cordials are best sipped (in cute little crystal glass) after dinner with dessert. You can also make a spritzer, putting 1 tsp of the cordial in a cup of sparkling water or in your champagne/proseco. I grew up drinking these and It is truly such a treat that simultaneously does something SO good for your body. What does this $40 class include? All you need to do is bring your own alcohol! We recommend Brandy but feel free to bring whatever other Spirit or wine you prefer. You will be placing 2 cups of alcohol into each mason jar, so calculate accordingly :) We will provide the rest of the ingredients (always top quality + organic) as well as the glass jar that your cordial will macerate (sit in) for 4 weeks. If you prefer to bring your own jar, you can do that, too. WE ARE LIMITING THIS EVENT TO 10 SEATS SO PLEASE RESERVE & PAY IN ADVANCE :) Blessings & love, The Humble Hut
