We are not born to read. It must be taught. Teaching in an explicit, systematic process is best for all students. If your student is struggling to read, please come to the seminar. Wait and See is not a good approach. Children who are not decoding and encoding well by 3rd grade have a harder time closing the gap. The gap can be closed for any child at any time but avoiding a larger and larger gap is best. Is your child frustrated and misbehaving? Look deeper. Kids do not want to misbehave but such behavior may be a sign of something deeper that they do not understand. Be their advocate and find out the WHY of the behavior.
