Nestled along the Amalfi Coast in the small seaside village of Nerano, you’ll find a charming hotel and restaurant called Lo Scoglio. Jutting out and into the Tyrrhenian Sea, across a boulder (or “scoglio''), it’s the kind of place you’d expect to encounter only in a Bond film. (Ironically, Lo Scoglio has become something of a summertime staple for celebrities and A-listers, many of whom routinely dock their yachts along the property’s deck.) The palpable energy generated by the restaurant – which is unmistakably warm, casual, and convivial – comes courtesy of the De Simone family (who founded Lo Scoglio in 1958) and extends well into the kitchen, from which Executive Chef Tommaso De Simone serves up a glorious array of dishes including his signature spaghetti alla Nerano (spaghetti with zucchini, cheese, and basil). Lucky for us, De Simone is bringing his talents stateside, where he’s set to collaborate with two other culinary geniuses – Adriano Cattaneo, Global Executive Chef of the internationally renowned French Riviera-inspired LPM Restaurant & Bar; and Brian Brumec, Executive Chef of the brand’s ultra-chic Miami location. Together, this exceptionally talented trio will craft a multi-course menu of recipes that pays tribute to the cinematic, sun-drenched seascapes of the Mediterranean.
