Description

Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) transitions will be cost-effective, affordable and sustainable only when contextualized in the larger energy transitions narrative. With the Advanced Clean Cars (ACC) II Rule, California has embarked on an ambitious journey to 100% electrification of LDVs by 2035. This will not only mean more EVs but will also require a rapid deployment of charging infrastructure, strategic electricity planning and tariff setting, investments in grid upgradation , and innovative business models for making EVs accessible to the majority. How does the ZEV regulation interact with electricity planning? What will be required in terms of additional policies? How much investment will be needed? What are the challenges and barriers for upgrading grid infrastructure? This session is the first in a series of conversations that will bring together policymakers, researchers and industry as California charts its pathway towards transport decarbonization. Remote participation is also welcome. Zoom link will be disseminated after registration.
