Black men love so black men do in fact hurt and grieve. But expressing grief is often viewed as a contradiction to being a strong, black man.
Faith Seventh-day Adventist Church is hosting a free seminar, Our Mourning & Our Manhood: Black Males & Grief. Join Dr. Allen Mitchell, Senior Staff Chaplain of the Children's Hospital in New Orleans, as he explores the burdens Black males carry, the trauma Black men face, and how it impacts emotions, health, relationships, and life. Dr. Mitchell will provide resources for parenting resilient and emotionally healthy young, black males as well as share strategies for men to own grief as a part of healing, living with hope, and passing a legacy of love and health to the next generation.
This seminar is scheduled for Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 3:00 pm. The location is the sanctuary of Faith Seventh-day Adventist Church, 7330 Mickens Road, Baton Rouge, LA 70811. The host pastor is Pastor Darriel Hoy.
