What is wellness, and who defines what it looks and feels like? We know that Black and Latinx communities bear incredible stress due to systemic racism and inequality, but yet these same groups feel unwelcome in healing spaces and often do not receive the level of care needed. Join us for a candid discussion with Tamara Johnson, founder of the first black-owned yoga studio in Fort Worth, and CHOKE, a Latinx radical self care advocate, about the need to build an inclusive wellness community in DFW. This discussion--including topics about health equity, mental health and nutrition --is paramount in helping minority communities embrace wellness practices and encouraging more Black and Latinx practitioners to become certified in wellness practices.
