It's back. Like the green bean casserole that appears on the table every year, with no one quite sure who made it.As we all know Thanksgiving began in 1818, when Teddy Roosevelt declared the Turkey our mortal enemy and ordered Americans to celebrate by cooking up a nice sage gravy, bickering with relatives and watching grown men chase a football around a field. That story was made up, but the below stuff isn't. Read below, and happy hunting.RULES, FOR THE UNINITIATED WHAT'S IN YOUR TICKET: $20 Goes to the pot, $30 to Swim Across America and Siteman Cancer Research Center. Its for a good cause, ya cheap bastards. We draw names out of a hat to form teams. Teams are random, so everybody love everybody. You may even meet your future husband/wife (this actually happened)The last name drawn from the hat dons a giant Turkey costume. The fine for declining the honor of being Turkey is a shot of Malort out of your own shoe.The Turkey grabs the pot of money and goes to hide in a bar within the pre-determined boundaries of play (Click Here for a map of the approved bars). The Turkey may not move or choose a venue with cover or an entry fee.The Turkey drinks through the pot of money. If asked why he or she is wearing a Turkey suit, the only acceptable answer is “what Turkey suit?”After giving the Turkey a 30 min head start, teams set off on the hunt.Teams go in search of the Turkey. If a team checks a bar that doesn’t contain the Turkey, they can’t move on until everyone in the team has had a drink/shot/bomb. Peering through windows counts as checking, so if you look inside you gotta grab a drink.When a team finds the Turkey, they get to join in drinking from the pot of money.NO TIPPING OFF OTHER TEAMS. It's unsportsmanlike and lame. Plus it shortens the bar crawl by about two hours. NO SHOTS FROM THE POT. They absolutely delete the bar tab. Shots are on your own dime, ya booze hounds.
