Sister Mary Ellen Howard is a native Detroiter, a Sister of Mercy, and a registered nurse. For twenty-five years, Mary Ellen served as a health care administrator in hospitals across Michigan, including two stints as CEO in Grayling and Muskegon.
Since retiring from the healthcare industry in 2014, Mary Ellen has continued to advocate on local, state, and national levels to bring visibility to many public health concerns, including the need for public access to safe water.
