We’re Hiring! Full Time Retail Wood Enthusiast O’Brien Hardwoods supplies local contractors, woodworkers, boatbuilders and hobbyists with domestic and imported rough-sawn hardwood lumber and cabinet grade and marine grade plywood. We are looking for an individual who enjoys woodworking or at least likes the thought of it and either knows this industry or has the drive and interest to know more!Currently we offer delivery throughout the entire state of Maine and we are looking for a quality individual to step into a retail role as well as filling in for occasional deliveries when needed. This is a full-time position and will also consists of learning about the hardwood lumber industry as well as aiding with the day-to-day operations in the store and occasionally driving our flatbed delivery truck. No special license required. We are a fun group and we are always looking for enthusiastic folks to join us! Responsibilities: o Learning and coverage of retail sales at O’Brien Hardwoods o Inform customers about new products and services o Help keep inventory stocked. o Driving the forklift o Talking Woodworking with our customers o Help plan and execute delivery activities, including: o Helping to prepare delivery loads Requirements: • Schedule of Monday through Friday, 7:30 to 4:00 • Physical ability to move large, bulky and/or heavy items • Ability to operate basic computer functions • Ability to operate a forklift (or aptitude and willingness/ability to learn) • Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties • Valid State of Maine Driver’s License with a clean record • Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction). • Minimum 21 year of age • Excellent communications and customer service skills • Excellent organizational and time management skills • High school degree This is a full-time position averaging 35-40 hours per week.
