You certainly have interesting views on the economy. Here's a thought. Perhaps before you lecture us on such issues, you might benefit from an elementary course of Economics 101.
"Prices have gone up EVERY YEAR for at least 100 years" As have wages. When I entered the work force, minimum wage was $1.15 an hour. The equivalent purchasing power today would be slightly more than $11.00. Yet the minimum wage is only $7.25 which has nothing to do with inflation per se, but with greedy corporations lobbying congressmen. PLUS, gas could be as low as ten cents/dollar during gas wars, meaning with one hour's wage you were able to buy 11 gallons. Today, at best, you would be able to (hopefully) purchase two gallons. That is a result of greedy petroleum executives lobbying as well.
In March 2020, Trump shut the nation down due to COVID. Corporations took an enormous hit. Hardest hit were small businesses who lost all revenue for months. In their eyes, we were all getting fat on stimulus checks while they were losing their sources of income. Now that the nation has come back, corporations want us to provide them with a stimulus check. They create shortages, because everyone in business knows you can sell feces in America simply by telling the people they can't have them. So we pay out the noses for everything. It is the working poor who really suffer. But we wouldn't want to help them, would we? Conservatives would label it "socialism."
"And the king shall answer, and say to them, 'Truly I say to you, inasmuch as you have done it to one of the least of these, My brothers, you have done it to Me." Matthew 25:40
