Drummer looking for new band or players to jam with

Description

I have pro gear and I've been playing off and on for over 20 years. I was recently in a gigging cover band for almost 2 years. It ran it's course. Now I'd like to find a new situation with other like minded musicians. I'm especially open to original material. I've been stuck playing mostly classic rock, but I'd love to play more R&B, gospel, funk, disco, prog, Jazz fusion or even grunge rock. I love a variety of music; Miles, Keith Jarrett, Sting, Bill Evans, Seal, Karen Carpenter, Pat Metheny, Pearl Jam, Earth Wind & Fire, Mahler, Prince, Thundercat, Hiromi, Hall & Oates, Guthrie Govan, Jacob Collier, Chick Corea and Stone Temple Pilots to name more than a few. I just don't like country or southern rock, and I'd prefer not to play the same old covers 20 other bands in the area are already playing. But for the right group of players, I'd be more than willing to play a country song (and have a great attitude about it too) if I knew I would get the exact same consideration in reverse. I'm not interested in being in someone's backing band, but no matter what I play, it will sound tight and tasteful. I have pride in what I do, and if I'm not striving to get better, there is no point. I don't intend to make a living out of this. I'm in my 30s. I have a business and a family. This is for fun, enjoyment and making a unique sound that we can all be proud of. I can be available for one rehearsal a week and one to two gigs per month.
