DRIVER W/ VEHICLE For Delivery To Charity

Description

Want to get paid, do a very good deed, and help the homeless stay warmer this season? Let's kick off the holidays with some targeted cold weather charity: Using your own vehicle, make a delivery of neatly folded, plastic bagged, new old stock t-shirts/sweatshirts (overstock, b-stock, artwork logo rejects, color errors etc, from a t-shirt screen printer). Destination is about 15 miles one way from Franklin to the downtown Nashville Rescue Mission. Apart from the ugly logo artwork issue (no logos are vinyl, all screen print) the clothing is not damaged. It's awesome "underneath layer" inventory. We'd like this operation done ASAP. The cold weather is almost here. The Rescue Mission is open daily 7am-7pm so there is some schedule flexibility for delivery. Plan on 2 hours of time spent total (depending on how many shirts you transfer). Must have a valid driver's license and good working vehicle. Pay depends on what size load you can deliver. Approx $40 for smaller load up to $100 for the largest load. This is charity work remember not retail business. We need drivers with a strong back, and perhaps a sizeable truck or van, to deliver a large load of a several hundred t-shirts quickly. This could be a one-time delivery w/ a large enough truck. Do you have an alternate charity in mind? We will consider other charities but we want this stuff to go straight to the shelters, not to the thrift stores. Prefer a larger van, truck w/ trailer or box truck (these individual clothing items are bagged and each is prone to getting blown out of an open pickup truck bed on the interstate). If you only have a small vehicle but are gung-ho for this idea it might be doable for you to take a smaller chunk of the inventory. Our driver/s must pick up and load the merch at a storage space in Franklin. Some of the stacks are fairly light, say 15 lbs, some stacks are heavier, say 30 lbs. We have a back saving dolly but there is a large amount of clothing to load -- it will take about 30-40 minutes to load it all into a truck for one healthy person. The Mission says they can help unload on their end, so there will be less work involved there. These are (despite ugly logos) quality garments for layering and added warmth, insulation, and for sleepwear. Completely clean and useful gear for people who are on the streets facing cold weather. The recipients will be truly grateful. Looking for big-hearted volunteers only. This is a chance to put new shirts/sweatshirts on the backs of the most desperate down-and-out folks in the metro area. NOTE: These garments cannot somehow be refurbished, resold: the printed screen ink logos are large, flawed, and they can't easily be removed w/ acetone from the fabric. So, this is not a good money making retail opportunity for hustlers who might try to intercept the charitable giving we are doing.
