Holiday tours at the Hotchkiss-Fyler House Museum, 192 Main St., Torrington
Take a guided tour of one of Connecticut’s notable house museums, decorated for the Christmas season. Operated by the Torrington Historical Society, the Hotchkiss-Fyler House Museum, built in 1900, features original family furnishings, impressive woodwork, painted and stenciled walls, and collections of fine and decorative arts. During the holiday season the house takes on a special ambiance when it is decorated with Christmas trees, vintage ornaments, wreaths, greenery, and white lights. Antique toys from the Society’s collection will also be on display and the dining room table will be set for Christmas dinner with linens, fine china, silverware and crystal from the Hotchkiss collection. Evening Tours: Limited evening tours will include the first and second floors of the house. Guided tours will be held on Wednesday, December 7th and Wednesday, December 14th at 5, 6 and 7 pm. Admission: $20 per person.
Should you wish to attend one of our daytime tours, held on the dates below, please view the separate registration event on Eventbrite: Guided daytime tours of the first floor will be held on the following dates: December 8, 9, 10, 11, 15, 16, 17, 18, 21, 22, 23, 28, 29 and 30. Tours will begin promptly at 12, 1, 2 and 3 pm. Admission: $10 for adults; $5 for Torrington Historical Society members. Children 6 and under are free.
